Phil's musical journey began at a young age when his family inspired him to pursue formal music training. By the age of thirteen, he was already playing in bands and being influenced by some of the greats, including Carlos Santana, Terry Kath, Bruce Conte, Larry Carlton, and Wes Montgomery. It was during this time that Phil realized his passion for music and decided to pursue it professionally.
Phil's dedication and talent paid off, and in 1979, he started working on studio dates. Since then, he has had a successful career recording and touring with an impressive list of artists, including Luther Vandross, Beyonce, Al Jareau, Anita Baker, Kenny Lattimore, Rachelle Farrell, Jeffrey Osborne, Peabo Bryson, James Ingram, Philip Bailey, Melissa Manchester, Sheena Easton, Denise Williams, Roberta Flack, Dionne Warwick, and more.
